Memories

Gary Sharpe

What can one say having been friends for 68 years! So many memories too numerous to mention them all.

We both learnt to drive together at around 14 being taught by the local milkman to drive his truck delivering milk and earning some pocket money. That was great except for dropping the clutch too fast so that all the crates of milk slid out the back and smashed on the road in the early hours of the morning in Allinga Avenue!

The photo would be around the time as young lads (around 12 I think) experimenting with various things like the time we thought it would be a good idea (mainly Bryan’s) to put the bullet that we found in my dads vice in the shed and hit it with a hammer. Went off like a shot up the driveway and narrowly missed the postie delivering letters to the mailbox. As you would expect at our age we did the right thing and ran like hell!

Although we did not catch up a lot in the later years we were always thinking of each other talked often and celebrated special occasions. I will miss you and always be proud to call you a friend and my mate.
